Spain: EIB and Talgo sign EUR 35m green loan to finance innovation strategy – On 4.2.2022, the EIB signed a EUR 35m green loan (2021-2024 period) with Pantes Talgo to finance research, development and innovation strategy related to the development of low-carbon rail transport vehicle components and systems, gradually increasing passenger and freight rail traffic and promoting a high-speed rail network. The core objective of the EIB-financed investment plan includes RDI projects on smart, green and integrated transport, with a view to strengthening Europe’s transport industries and achieving an environmentally friendly yet efficient European transport system.

Mims: contributions amounting to EUR 5 million to support professional training activities in the road haulage sector – On 4.2.2022, the Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Enrico Giovannini, signed a decree setting out the modalities for the disbursement of resources, amounting to EUR 5 million, to support professional training activities in the road haulage sector. The recipients of the resources are road haulage companies that carry out training courses for workers involved in logistics, transport, and shipping, in order to ensure in-depth knowledge of road safety, new technologies, and environmental protection. The resources disbursed vary according to the size of the enterprise; the contribution for training activities is EUR 15,000 for micro enterprises (fewer than 10 workers), EUR 50,000 for small enterprises (up to 50 workers), EUR 100,000 for medium-sized enterprises (up to 250 workers), and finally, EUR 150,000 for large enterprises (with 250 workers or more). To access these resources, it is necessary to implement company or inter-company training plan initiatives (territorial or structured in supply chains) that must be started from 19.4.2022 and completed by 6.8.2022.

Mims: ‘Bonus Safe Vehicles’ from March bonus for overhauls carried out since 1 January 2022– On 7.2.2022, Mims announced that from 1.3.2022 it will be possible to apply for reimbursement (from EUR 9.90) via the ‘Bonus Safe Vehicles’ platform to compensate for the increase in overhaul fees carried out since 1.1.2022.

Mims: five strategic objectives identified for the presidents of the Port System Authorities – On 4.2. 2022, Mims has identified five strategic objectives for the presidents of the Port System Authorities (“AdSPs”) concerning: i) the acceleration of capital expenditure related to the financial year 2022, ii) the completion of the digitalisation procedures for the Single Administrative Counter, iii) the sustainability reporting of the Port System Authorities, iv) the implementation of the interventions provided for by the National Complementary Fund and the three-year dredging plan, v) the completion of the Maritime State Property Information System and the related data for state concessions.
