POSITION SUMMARY

Grimaldi Alliance is a frequent contractor of projects at the European level for the European Commission and other EU institutions for the implementation of European regulatory norms in the 27 Member States and advises corporations on those high-end and fast developing topics.

For this reason, Grimaldi Alliance is looking for a experienced/ senior Legal Consultant specialized in European law, ideally with 10 or more years of professional experience in European Business law and project developing, as well as supporting project implementation and FW.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and managing new projects, managing junior resources, and managing public tenders at the European level, assisting the European Commission (including, DG Just, DG FISMA, DG ENER, DG COMP, DG MOVE) and European Agencies, as well as International Institutions. This role requires a deep understanding of EU legislation, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality analytical reports. The idea person we are looking for must have ambition to grow quickly and contribute to the successes of GRIMALDI ALLIANCE.

As well as having good knowledge and understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and key EU policies, the ideal candidate is also business-minded, with a solid grasp of the market and an enthusiasm for meeting of current regulatory challenges for the EU in the areas of competition, energy transition, climate change and environmental pollution, transport, human rights, among others.

Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, multi-tasking and time management will be major assets. Regularly working in large, international and multidisciplinary teams, you should also demonstrate a collaborative approach and an ease interacting with a wide range of legal and business professionals as well as leading Junior colleagues. Proactive and self-motivated, you should be eager to take ownership of your work product and demonstrate the skill, talent and commitment to deliver outstanding results.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Your main duties will be:

• Conduct thorough legal and policy research;
• Analyze EU directives, regulations, and policies to provide insights and recommendations;
• Prepare detailed reports and policy briefs based on research findings;
• Stay updated on the latest developments and changes in EU policies;
• Coordinate and manage cross-border research teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication;
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and deliverables;
• Coordinating the Project Development Team.
• Attending meetings with the EC and other external stakeholders.
• Supporting in the implement of awarded studies.
• Supporting consortium building and finding potential partners where needed
• Managing junior figures and graduates as a part of the team

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• A university degree in Law, European studies or International Relations. A good knowledge of EU regulatory law is needed. The bar in any Member State would be an asset;
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and policy documents;
• Experience overseeing project cycle management and preparing proposals in response to calls, preferably related to topics of EU law;
• Capacity to manage junior and senior colleagues;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency in English and at least one other European language;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Experience in drafting project proposals, technical and administrative assistance, support to project implementation (organizing workshops, producing technical documents).
• Knowledge of the European bidding and funding framework and the main programs at EU and national level (Example: NextGenerationEU and Recovery Plan, Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, etc.).
• Good coordination and training skills for younger professionals;
• Good knowledge and understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and key EU policies;
• Business development and networking attitude and organizational skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency level in English. Knowledge of other EU-spoken languages is a plus.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
